MID-CENTURY Italian Import BORGHESE CHERUB/ PUTTI BOOKENDS. Each bookend measures 8-1/2" tall X 3-1/4" wide X 5-3/8" popular long. Beautifully made of a ceramic pottery material they feature a neo-classical styling that would perfectly compliment Italian Rococo or Hollywood Regency decor. The heavy molded pottery design incorporates the "sculpted" gilt gold bust of a cherub mounted atop a "faux" black marble column (see images). The flat metal base has a black felt pad that shows a bit of wear and minor scuffs in the finish are conditions commensurate with age.
