Brand new, never used, old stock circa 2000s matched pair of rare made in Italy Stefano Giovannini for Alessi ‘Girotondo' ‘Standing Men' Blue Boy Pepper Mill, and Blue Girl Salt Grinder, in mirror polished Inox Stainless steel and figural light blue thermoplastic resin. Be the first ever to use these precious beauties, or keep them on a shelf as sculptural items of display. These iconic and pop art style examples of functional Italian design and matchless craftsmanship are truly superb, and are no longer in production, making them hard to come by and desirable indeed. They also evoke the universal appeal of the artworks of the artist Keith Haring.

Check the photos- they are basically flawless, mint, like new, and ready to adorn their future home. Incredible Alessi popular design, materials, and engineering on display here, folks. Functional art.

Here is some information about the Designer Stefano Giovannini and his iconic Girotondo ‘Standing Men' design work which is now celebrating 30 years in production:

Stefano Giovannoni:
Born in La Spezia in 1954, Stefano as an architect and designer was taught by Buti at Florence University. In the early 80's he founded the King-Kong Production Group along with Guido Venturini. A technical designer par excellence he has industrial design in his DNA and the capacity to understand public sentiment like no other designer mentioned in this catalogue. His projects began with the Girotondo (1989 designed with Guido Venturini) and the first transparent objects in plastic from the Family Follows Fiction series (1993). There is a huge number of his items in the Officina Alessi, Alessi and A di Alessi catalogues.

GIROTONDO: The cartoon men created by the King-Kong team 30 years ago are a symbol and icon of mirror polished design based on the use of "affective codes", so much so that they are one of its most oft-cited examples. The "standing men" have appeared on objects from the farthest corners of Alessi tradition, like trays and baskets, and then they multiplied, invaded and conquered other groups of objects - and not just in the kitchen and at the table.
