White Flower Wall popular Sculpture Wall Art Beetle Insect Bug 604

I created this wall art sculpture over a ceramic tile with polymer clay. The white flower is the setting for this whimsical and colorful beetle. The body of the insect is entirely polymer clay in an intricate design. I use wire for the antennae with dabs of acrylic paint and Swarovski crystals for the eyes.

The bug is always the main focus of my work but it finds a home on some of the lovely textures found in nature, whether it be a flower, leaves, fungi or tree bark. I purposefully use only white polymer clay or the combination of black and white for popular the background texture so the little insect can "shine".

This tile measures approximately 6.25” by 6.25” by 1.5” and is signed by the artist. There is a sawtooth hanger on the back.
