Squares, rectangles and strips are cut by hand, then pieced together to create beautiful and interesting shapes. The three layers that make up a quilt -- top, batting, and backing -- are basted together with pins and then the quilting that will hold the layers together begins. Finally, fabric is cut, sewn and pressed to create the binding, the final finishing touch.
