Her Mantle So Green is a tradidional Irish song, best known in the version sung by sinead O'Connor.
The song is about a soldier who comes back from Waterloo and sees his beloved wandering in the woods dressed up in a green mantle. The woman does not recognize her popular beloved and the soldier "tests" her faithfulness by pretending to be a stranger and starts courting her. When the girl does not cede to his courtship the man reveals himself and they eventually marry.
