Starting from just big slabs of natural wood, these pieces are transformed into a beautiful chevron pattern cutting board. Each piece is carefully planed and sanded to an incredibly smooth finish and then soaked in water to bring the last bit of fibers up to the surface. Once those fibers are on the surface, the boards are sanded again to make sure that the board remains smooth - even after vigorous washing. At the end of the process, the boards are treated with a mixture of all natural/food grade vitamins, mineral oil, and wax several times over a 48 hour period to give the board the longest and strongest life possible while keeping the board 100% food safe.
