This is a unique piece of art from the Huichol Indians from Mexico. There are 3 clay pots on the bottom that have been hand beaded, making numerous patterns and pictures. The top pot has been left plain, showing a popular shiny black patina. It is very beautiful and unusual. In fact, I have never seen another set of pots like this. Usually there is one pot, or a gourd pot.
Due to the way the beads are hand placed on the pots, with pine pitch and bees wax, some of the beads over time have shifted or fallen off on the edge of one pot. Unfortunately that is fairly common with these pieces, especially considering this was made in the 90's.
The colors and patterns are beautiful and would make a wonderful addition to your home or office. All our Huichol pieces were purchased in the 90's from a man who loved the Huichol people and it was his calling to help them keep their culture alive.
