My name is Sharon Fitzpatrick Perry and I have been hooking rugs for well over 25 years. I try to use as much recycled wool as I can get my hands on but for the most part I buy the wool by the yard, wash it, dry it, dye it if necessary and then cut it into 1/4 inch strips. I design all of my own primitive rugs and also dye my own wool. I hooked this rug on a linen backing with 100% wool 1/4" fabric strips in many shades of colors including hand dyed, mill dyed, and over dyed shades. I also use a variety of wool plaids which add great texture to these hooked mats. This particular rug which measures 11 X 16 inches would look great as a wall hanging. Just tack it to the wall with small tacks which can go right through the corners or any other area that needs reinforcing. It would also look great as a table centerpiece, pillow top, displayed on a trunk or just sitting on the back of the couch for a touch of color.
Again this is a rug which includes lovely dyed and over dyed colors including some interesting plaids and textured wools. The rug is finished on the under side with cotton rug binding, and comes signed by me.
