This wool Afghanistan War Rug was hand made in Kabul City, the capital of Afghanistan. It is in excellent condition and approximately 24 inches wide and 30 inches long in size. These rugs take 30-40 days to hand weave. The pictures on this rug depict when after being defeated the Soviet forces pulled out of Afghanistan during May 15, 1988 to February 15, 1989. It shows the Russian tanks and helicopters leaving through the North back to Russia. Also shown are various weapons used during the war including RPGs, hand grenades, AK-47s and guns. This rug is known as "Map of Afghanistan."
Each rug is handmade and one of a kind because of this it is common for some of them to have misspelled words and/or inconsistencies.
