Maple burl bowl popular

Maple is a hardwood not found in the woods around popular here, so Greg rescues them from people's yards, who are taking their trees down, and don't want them going to the landfill. So instead, Greg rescues the wood and gives it a second chance at life.
This maple tree had a burl attached to it. A burl is a growth on the side of the tree looking like a tree zit. The grain is very swirling and irregular, making it unique.
Greg added some wavelike patterning to the edges with his grinder to make it one of a kind.
