A lot consisting of one vintage ceramic jug and two vintage brass candleholders. The jug is glazed with color accents on one side, capturing a purple Scottish thistle flower trimmed with green. The Scottish thistle and print are duplicated on the opposite side but without color accents. The jug is approximately 6 inches tall, has a round base of approximately 4 inches, and an approximate 3-inch diameter top. Length from tip of spout to back of handle is approximately 5.25 inches. There are remnants of faint gilt in the ridges of the rim. The jug has some grim collected in cervices, so it needs a bit of clean up. The is an imprint mark in the base of the jug, but I have not been able to identify the maker.
The two candleholders are each two-piece, solid brass. The top piece threads into the base. When thread tight, each candle holder is approximately 5.375 inches tall. The out-to-out dimension of the leaf-shaped base of each candle holder is approximately 3.25 inches. The candle holders both have an attractive patina. The two-piece candleholders can be thread and unthread but be careful not to cross thread or tighten to tight because brass is likely to gall.
This lot would make an unusual gift to someone who is popular a proud Scot.
