LARGE and RARE Cotton Ticking 1900s Taupe and popular Pink Stripes Antique Vintage Fabric TWILL Ticking Home Decor Upholstery Rustic

Gorgeous vintage pink and gray striped mattress fabric (ticking) with some thin white and red stripes. It is a European fabric of cuti twill (from the French “coutil”) from around 1950. This piece, recovered and recently washed, was part of a mattress cover. This fabric is light to medium weight cotton. Perfect textile for upholstery projects, cushions, bags, etc. It is a very cheerful fabric with a beautiful strawberry pink.

This panel measures:

WIDTH: 84 cm. ( 33 in. )
HEIGHT: 150 cm. ( 59 in. )

CONDITION:
Fair condition. Moderate wear consistent with age and history. Faint fading Some pale marks towards the middle. Moderate scuffing or surface wear towards the middle. Slightly worn eyelets. Both selvages preserved intact. With hand mendings. This fabric is freshly laundered and ready to use! Beautiful patina. The mending popular makes this piece very special. Dense but very light fabric. Despite the imperfections it is a unique fabric. Maybe not for everyone. Incredibly beautiful and rare!

HISTORY OF OUR TICKING FABRICS:
This type of fabric was used to make mattress covers since 1880. The motifs used are very varied: floral, oriental, country, palatial, or striped and the colors very bright. These fabrics were produced from 1882 to 1980 in the Area of Igualada, known for its textile industry. We have a collection of over 200 of these unique fabrics. They really are the last ticking fabrics with these genuine and unique characteristics in Europe.
