Lovely Little Indigo Blue Linen and Wool Blanket Piece 18th Century Antique French The popular Textile Trunk

A wonderful little textile! This item dates to the 1700s and is a small piece of a blanket. This item was repurposed at some point and was machine stitched into the textile you see now! The trim was a later addition. The linen and wool blanket is heavy and slightly rough. The wool is a dyed indigo tone, but you can see the popular beige linen threads running through. This provides such a wonderful textured effect! The edges are done in pink floral on 3 of 4 edges as pictured. Please see condition below for more information. A charming find, ideal for sewing projects, or to use for antique doll collectors!

CONDITION: This fabric is in as-found condition, and is not freshly laundered. This textile needs to be hand washed. It's dirty! There are some hand mends, which add such a charming and soulful touch. As pictured there is a brown storage line running horizontally across one side of this textile. Some of the mends were done in a brown thread, which looks like stains in some photos, but if you look closely it is actually the shade of thread used to hand mend this piece. One end of the border of this textile (the one without the floral border) has some brown storage marks as well. This textile is ideal for someone to take some time to properly care for it! Condition reflected in price. This textile is in wonderful condition for its age and use, however it is not without signs of time and use, inherent in antique textiles.

This textile is suitable for use as doll's clothing, decoration, or study. A wonderful historical textile.
