Product code: RARE Antique French Transferware Canary Yellow popular Montereau Plate Circa 1825 Faience Fine Creil
Super rare are the French faience fine transferware plates in this deep, rich, canary yellow color. Marked LL&T Montereau the "creamware" plate is from about 1825 and was produced in the popular Paris area. The plate is in remarkably good condition, with some very faint knife marks (think of that FRENCH CUISINE!) Please see photos. Not bad for almost 200 years!.
We enjoy collecting the various patterns from the major Parisian creamware manufacturers of the early 1800s. .. and sometimes we even use them for dining! Interestingly, the factories were run by Englishmen in the beginning, as the French had not yet mastered the transfer techniques.
