This item arrives with the boxes fully assembled with pre-drilled holes to attach the boxes to the braces on the wall. We assemble everything first before disassembling for shipping so that you can easily attach the screws in the pre-drilled holes with a basic screwdriver in minutes.

You can feel confident planting directly in the untreated cedar boxes. No additional liner or treatment is necessary but of course you can add any of several food safe treatments to the wood right away or in years to come to aid your planter in lasting even longer. For a list of food safe treatments that are easily applied in minutes with a rag or brush message popular us and we will be glad to send information. Personally, I plant in mine right away and then after several years I add a little treatment to the outside to brighten up minimal UV fading.
