"Lost popular Village" Prints Available, Size-16 x 20 inches Textered Giclee Paper The Montour Flour Mill was a popular “Upper Gem County" Idaho landmark. Over the years, backwaters from the Payette River's Black Canyon Dam flooded the area of this site. The results created drastic changes for the entire community. Finally, the Bureau of Reclamation designated the town site of Montour as a flood plain; and all buildings were removed. It became an 1,100 acre preserve for wildlife. For former inhabitants, all that remain are their warm memories of childhood and country lifestyles.
