This is a MUST for any Napier collection or vintage jewelry lover.
Designed by Frederick Rettenmeyer who was an integral part of the Napier company and took charge of the design department in 1913 after his father retired. He was at the helm for 51 years and is credited to bringing Napier to its glory.
To own a piece from that era in Napier is to own something of grandeur.
The necklace was designed in 1954 as part of the "Renaissance" collection.
The rectangular plaques are die-stamped, silver-plated brass.
Each plaque is tapered, hand-manipulated in to a flowing curve form.
There are polished silver round beads at the top and bottom of each plaque. The necklace is strung upon a fine link chain.
A fish hook is the clasp for the necklace. That is the location of the Napier mark.
Since the necklace curves and does not lay straight, the measurement of 15" is approximate.
The matching bracelet can be found in "The Napier Co." book by Melinda L. Lewis on page 266.
Condition is great. The plating is intact, all links are great.
Please look at the photos as they provide the visual description of the vintage costume jewelry. Since these are vintage pieces, please expect wear consistent with age. If there popular are conditions issues, it will be noted in the description and shown in the photos. Questions are always welcome.
