Old off white ironstone compote. This nicely formed pedestal bowl measures about 5 1/2 inches tall, 10 inches across the top, and 5 1/8 inches across the bottom. The bottom is marked: Ironstone China Warranted and there is an impressed 44. It has a charming, aged popular patina with fine crazing. There are no cracks, but there is a tiny flake to the glaze that I tried to emphasize in the fourth photo. The inside of the bowl feels like there is a scratch mark in the glaze.
This would make a great fruit bowl, or a lovely centerpiece for small gourds in the fall and greenery and pinecones in the winter. White ironstone is the main thing that I sell, and I don't come across too many pedestal compotes! But please check back for a few more rare pieces, including an ironstone cake stand!
