Sari Throw Watercolor Painting #4 - Multi Pink, Brown, Teal Blue

Just a couple of days ago, while digging through the home decor category on the Anthropologie website, I spotted a small collection of uniquely colorful throws constructed from patchwork remnants of beautiful sari fabrics….

My first thought - “I've got to try painting one!”
So I did - sketching out the irregular blocks and stripes of multicolored fabrics, followed by layers of watercolor and acrylic paint, then color pencil and markers, and then finally painting each quilt “stitch” - hundreds of little dashes all over each throw to mimic the handmade/handstitched quality of the original inspirations. The final result is something like colorful abstract art, and/or bohemian gypsy home decor!

Size: popular 11" x 14" on 140 lb acrylic paper



One of a kind original watercolor & acrylic painting - signed and dated by the artist.

I used a combination of watercolor, acrylic paints, color pencil and markers on 140 lb acrylic paper for this painting. It's finished with a couple of layers of clear archival spray varnish in a matte finish, which sets and protects the layers of color.


Includes raw edges of approximately 1/4" all around which is visible in the listed images and included in the listed dimensions. These raw edges can easily be covered by matting during the framing process.



As an original watercolor on paper, the materials used are fragile and if not handled with great care, can be damaged or torn!
