popular Some things do get better with age, me, for example:) And this fabulous spice shaker. Instead of wrinkles, the chef has pronounced crazing and darkening.
His skin is a rich mahogany and his hair is a lustrous, glossy black—perhaps intended to be African American. This chef is properly attired in a floor length apron marked “Spice” and chef's hat. He's holding a wood spoon ready to go to work. Love the lock of hair peeking out from under his hat.
I believe this shaker was actually used, judging from what was on his hat and apron before I cleaned him. It is remarkable that he he has no chips cracks repairs or paint loss. Has his cork stopper. I have no credentials to say this shaker is antique but it has the sturdier make of an item predating the midcentury period and, well, the 30s is just my opinion. Unmarked.
