Don't it make my brown eyes blue? When it comes to attracting another pelican it does!!!! During brown pelican's courtship and mating season the brown eyes of an adult male and female undergo an incredible color change. Their eyes change from brown, to yellowish white and eventually light blue. Color changes are not just limited to their eyes. Their bills and throat pouches brighten filling with saturated color while yellow feathers take over their white heads. Gotta love what we do for love!
I paint in an impasto style using oil paint with palette/painting knives. Painting with palette knives allow a freedom I never enjoyed with brushes. I'm drawn to New Orleans cityscapes and Louisiana landscapes. I'm inspired by the vibrant vivid colors and heavy textures achieved with this three dimensional painting style. I enjoy capturing a view that I would enjoy spending a couple of hours in front of, taking in all the flavor of my surrounding.
This is a giclee created from my original impasto oil painting. All of my original paintings are painted in an impasto style (heavy texture) done in oil using palette knives. Giclee stretched over a .75" frame, using high quality archival inks and protected with a UV coating. Canvas wraps edge of frame and is back stapled. Image wraps around edge of canvas. Making this canvas ready to hang without a frame. Offered Framed and Unframed.
