J. Hook's 1980s taupe brown trench coat features a button-in wool pinstripe lining with sleeves.

The upper part of the garment is satin-lined, sleeves satin-lined, hidden front closure with six snap buttons, padded shoulders, storm flap, chin strap, back flap, O-ring belt loop sleeves, and O-ring belt—heavy coat.

There is a slightly deeper color on the back of the right arm, a tiny light spot just below the back storm flap upper rear end of the coat. Both these areas are not noticeable when worn. The color is even throughout except for the above mention.
