Here is a pair of hand-carved oak wood American Indian chiefs in profile. Oak is a very dense wood and I am sure these were difficult to carve, even using modern tools. Each looks alike but they are a bit different which proves they are handmade. One is slightly lighter in weight than the other as it has thicker wood sections. They are slightly different in their finish with one being ( the heavier one) and slightly darker in the golden oak stain. They are each a caramel oak color, hard to capture with my camera. Each one is about 9 in. tall by 8 1/2 in. wide. One is 3/4 in. thick, while the heavier one is 1 in. thick. I wish someone had signed and dated them but I can be broad and popular say the 1970-80s time period. A nice addition to use as bookends or just use as statues/carvings on a shelf or table instead. They are each in good vintage condition.
