Antique French Photo Frame with Gorgeous Brocade Fabric Backing, With Wedding Photograph Circa 1900 popular

This is a beautiful antique French frame which I sourced locally to enable me to frame this original black and white photograph of a wedding that took place in Chatellerault, SW France in the late 1800s / early 1900s. The frame is made from wood which has little wood filets joining each corner and has legs, so it can stand on a dresser or sideboard to be admired. The frame is lovely, beautifully made and has a lovely silk brocade mount with a dark chocolate brown inner edging. It suits the old photograph so well! The photograph itself shows a wedding party posing outside of an old stone walled barn. It's lovely to see the fashion of the day and all the men sporting a moustache! It is interesting to see how serious they all appear - no-one really smiling - which is how photographs used to be taken in the old days. How things have changed since then! I think this would make a fabulous wedding gift for a happy couple - but would also be a wonderful addition to any home to add a little antique French charm to any room.

MEASUREMENTS
15 1/4 inches (39 cm) tall by 15 1/4 inches (39 cm) in width from the legs to the top of the frame. Weight is 1.044 kg (unpackaged weight).

CONDITION
It is in a lovely antique condition; the screw on one foot is a bit loose and there is one clip that is broken on the back which holds the backing board in place. Zoom in to see clearly in photographs.
