Up for sale today is this interstate 5, US route 101, and interstate 10 sign, with destinations of Santa Ana and Santa Monica. Made to the exact state standard used from 1959 to 1962. This style is the first to feature the green background adopted in August, 1959 to conform with the new interstate standards. This sign stood for many years at the East LA Interchange, where the other direction of I-10 split off to San Bernardino.

An original of these is not only very rare to find scrapped, but is a herculean effort to transport; they are long since retired from active use. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without chancing a hernia.

The sign is flat printed on heavy gauge steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It is available in three sizes: 27 by 10 inches, 41 by 15 inches, or 82 by 30 inches. The 82 by 30 sign is made on two panels, and will be shipped as two 41 1/4 by 30 inch halves, with mounting holes along the top and bottom edges to accommodate two rails for stability. The freeway signs in use in the field are much more colossal - this one is a precise rescaling of the standard junction sign down to a much more manageable size. it is a non-reflective sign - perfect for ordinary display, indoors or outdoors.
