Blue Marquetry Wood Stash Box Wooden Box Remote Control Box Remote Control Caddie wooden keepsake box Modern Box Art Deco Gift inlaid box

While I call this my Remote Box, it can store anything you want! Designed to hold 3-4 remotes it is perfect for hiding those ugly chunks of plastic and then you always know where they are.

This is a fun, funky modern box, and yes, the holes you see do go through the box. So as expected, no it cannot hold water :-).

The different colors across the front are 5 individual pieces of wood veneer that are glued down to bamboo. All my edges are hand softened to create a picture frame effect and to make it soft to the touch. The final step is 3 coats of spray varnish polished for a smooth protective coating.

The woods used are (from back to front edge) Designer Grey* Designer Blue Stripes* Designer Aqua*, Designer Grey and Designer Blue Stripes. The sides of the box are solid maple and the bottom is Baltic Birch plywood. INTERIOR DIMENSIONS: 10" x 4" x 2,25" (LxWxH)
*Designer woods are limited release dyed Designer Woods made in Italy.

I am a Art Festival artist that does juried art shows along the East Coast and occasionally into the Midwest under the name Lost Art popular Woodworks. My work blends hardwoods, wood veneers, and often shell to create marquetry and inlaid mosaics. The resulting depictions are arranged along organic and geometric lines creating unique montages with each piece of wood and shell selected for contrast, complement, tone and color.

I began producing these boxes in December 2019 and have made them in a myriad of colors. It is called my "In The Margins Small Remote Box". The name "In The Margins" is related to similar geometric drawings I made starting in middle school in the margins of my notes while in class. Who new that it would be what I was doing "In The Margins" that would be the most important things on those pages.
