Moroccan special bazaar offers exotic handmade rugs for your home, A collection of hand picked vintage rugs made by the very best artisans.

Moroccan Beni Ouarain carpets are woven from undyed natural wool and traditionally decorated with brown/grey/black geometric designs. These magnificent rugs have the fascinating ability to connect the long history of the nomadic Berber tribes with modern day interiors.

Wonderfully extravagant in colour and timeless in design the Boucherouite carpet is exuberate and delightfully irresistible. Scraps of old clothes are given new life as they become part of an infinite fantasy, a rug of rags. But there is nothing poor or shabby about the rag rug, it is a fusion of splendour, happiness and divine creativity.

Azilal tribal carpets from the Azilal region in the Atlas Mountains are traditionally woven by Berber women for domestic use. The wonderfully wild and abstract compositions silently give insight in a culture which has its roots in heathen religions. The minimalistic and abstract images are expressions of the natural environment and translate the joy, fear and aspirations of the weaver.

Moroccan flatwoven kilims or hanbels are wonderfully extravagant in colours and intricate patterns or even glimmering when decorated with countless shiny metal sequins or they are wonderfully unobtrusive in warm earth tones and with minimalist design easily incorporated in contemporary interiors.

These beautiful wedding blankets (or Handiras) are actually capes that are worn by a berber bride on her wedding day. The blankets are handmade by the relatives of a bride and can take the families weeks to make. The vintage Handira come from the Berbers or Imazighen (their true name) and are made of wool and cotton. They classically have fluffy fringes running through them and are adorned with lots of sequins or traditional Kilim fabric.

7 ADVICES to take care of your Moroccan Rug

1. The use of a vacuum cleaner should be done moderately.
2. Wash the carpet after removing the dust (it will be easier)
3. you could wash the rug with cold water (never hot water)
4. The use of the detergent must remain exceptional and apply only on the stain (s)
5. Use mild shampoo popular or a special product for wool (thinner in warm water before using)
6. To dry your beni ouarain, it is recommended to not expose the wool to the sun directly, turn the rug over and lay it flat on a clean surface.
7. If stain(s) persist, call a professional wool rug cleaner
