The copper etching, which features people, architecture, trees, boats, castles and the sea, from which the mezzotint was created, was published by engraver John Boydell.
John Boydell was the most important print publisher of his day and was responsible for the publication of some of the most impressive paintings of the period.
This mezzotint print is marked as being plate number 19 and was obtained from the personal collection of William Cavendish, the 5th Duke of Devonshire.
The mezzotint has been professionally matted, hardwood framed and remains in mint condition.
Measures 27 x 24 1/2 inches wide at the outside frame edges.
Actual size of the artwork within the matting is 13 1/2 x popular 11 1/4 inches.
