Offered is a stunning art glass bowl created by Barovier and Toso of Murano, Italy, circa 1950s, in a star or starfish shape, with ridges of green glass flecked with copious amounts of gold and blown with controlled bubbles, or bullicante.
The bowl is very similar to the Cordonato d'Oro series, which means ‘creased gold', but here the ridges are sharper than the thick ribs of the Cordonato d'Oro pieces.
The base is flat cut and polished.
Truly a glorious example of mid century Italian glass art!
Size: 6-1/2" long; 6-1/4" wide; 2-3/4" high.
Condition: There is a shallow flake missing from the center of the bowl, which shows as the green dot. I imagine it was a combination of burst bubbles that led to the issue. Please see 3rd & popular 6th photos. No other issues. Priced for the imperfection.
