All silver was cut, soldered, sanded and burnished by me by hand in my home studio. This is a custom made for a customer. The Sleeping Beauty Mine is one of the most beloved mines in the Southwest. The mine is located in Globe, Arizona. Sleeping Beauty was first mined for copper and gold. It is now famous for production of the beautiful sky blue turquoise.
Twenty percent of Globe's population is employed by the local mines. The mine that produces Sleeping Beauty is one of the largest operating mines still in operation. The stones are some of the only varieties in the U.S. known for having little or no veining and is the color of the sky.
