1900s Edwardian Guilloche popular Dance Compact or Compact Purse Powder Compact Rouge Compact Mirror Compact Change Compact Very Good Condition

This is a circa 1900 Guilloche Dance Compact or Compact Purse accommodating Powder, Rouge, a Mirror and a popular change/currency compartment in Very Good Condition. On the top, an engine turned series of symetrically placed vertical stripes is centered by an enameled rose and leaves. The sides are all a shiny silver finish with engine turned repousses at each corner, both top and bottom. The bottom has a field of horizonal stripes. Inside, the upper compartment houses the glass mirror. The lower compartment consists of a hinged gate plate that comtains a powder plate and rouge plate, and a clean original powder puff. The gate plate lifts up to reveal an empty compartment for change or currency. Overall, this compact is in Very Good Condition for its age. The top exhibits some age related light scuffing, and the guilloche enamel is perfect with no cracks or chips. The bottom also exhibits some light age related scuffing; and there is one very small dimple in the surface on the left side (see Photo #3). Inside, the glass mirror has several very minor silver loss spots and light haze near the edges; but your image is still reflected crisply. There is some residual powder and rouge on their respective plates. The hinges and clasp are alligned and work properly. There is no rust or corrosion anywhere. The dainty compact measures 2 7/8 inches wide by 1 3/4 inches high by 5/8 inch thick. The wrist chain measures 9 inches in total length.
