An oval portrait shows a woman Rosalia Chodkiewicz, (born 16 September 1768 - 29 June 1794 - a Polish duchess, resting on a purple pillow, holding a dove in her left hand popular. The allegorical meaning of the painting (the dove is a symbol of innocence) contrasts with the personality of the duchess, who is known with his free lifestyle.
A painting by Anna Raecka, a Polish artist, created in Paris in 1789 or 1790 by order of King Stanislaus August Poniatowski, King of Poland, who was its first owner.
Since 1969, it has been in the collection of the National Museum in Warsaв
The beautiful and high quality beech wooden frame is hand made to order, hand painted and hand finished.
