popular Behold! You are looking at a vintage National T-66 AM/SW transistor radio, made in 1961.
If you are looking for a large-format portable radio for AM and SW listening, you have met your match! Before Panasonic had become Panasonic, it has a couple of other brand names. National was one of them.
The T-66 is an amazingly good performer. When I tested it after restoration I could receive morse code, teletype, and even some amateur radio on the 80 and 40 meter bands. It would make for a nice DX radio.
I don't see these around very often. I think this radio might have been sold primarily in Australia, and I'm not sure if it was widely available in the US. Aside from being a little bit worn, this radio comes in a solid wood case and has a hefty feel to it. The quality is great. It runs on four C batteries.
I gave it the usual soundabound treatment. All capacitors have been replaced as have all out-of-spec components. The radio has also been cleaned inside and out and all the pots and dials work great. All the bands have been tuned and peaked up. The telescoping antenna is in great shape and the tuning strength meter works nicely.
Although restored, this is a vintage item. Thus it is being sold AS-IS.
