Striped Toucan Wooden Mask is hand-carved and hand-painted by Mayan Artisans. This is one art piece of a large personal collection which was purchased and imported from the Guatemalan market town of Chichicastenango in the 1980s.
The hand making of masks, used by dancers in traditional ceremonies, have made this city well known for wood carving.

In some Mayan communities, proposals are accompanied by the groom's family presenting the bride's family with a Rooster or two to show they are pleased with the union.
