ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: High-quality limited edition of 100 prints are available and come rolled up in a tube. I observed these Warblers at home and during my hikes as they fed on the seeds of our Laurel Sumac this November and December. It became a sight I would look forward to almost every morning. I would say to myself, "Let's see what the warblers are doing this morning," and stand still near sumac full of seeds for five minutes. Sure enough, a warbler would be coming to breakfast. You may recognize the mountain view in the background from my field sketch of Saddle Peak. Its sandstone cliffs and the microwave tower make for an unmistakable Topanga Canyon view. The decorative frame took more time to design and complete than the bird and the landscape. This is because taking the elements for artwork from nature and drawing them realistically is easier than taking the same elements and reinventing them stylistically into an esthetically balanced design that is complementary to the whole artwork.


The original is on hold at this time, as I am reserving it for popular a future exhibition. For now, these drawings are offered in limited edition signed and numbered giclée prints of exceptional quality. The quality of these prints is so good, I have to look closely to see which one is the original and which one is a print. As usual, the proceeds from the sale of my wildlife artwork will go to purchasing more bird food and providing and maintaining a water supply for them at El Refugio wildlife habitat.
