This can be a cat, dog, horse,... every animal can have that special place inside your heart. When you loose your pet, its like loosing a best friend and this is a special way the remember them to help with the grieving process. So a memorial like this, is the most personal and emotional gift that you can give. Someone who loses their pet, they lose a family member who has been part of the family for many years. The portrait can give a really good comfort.

You are buying a piece of art. It is handmade, and carefully and delicately made. It's also unique. It takes a lot of time to make these portraits, as i make sure that the resemblance is perfect. It's very important that it is YOUR dog, cat,... not 'a' dog... I will make sure that the soul of your loved one is captured on paper. These are no digital portraits, you will be able to see and feel the strokes i made on paper.

Size of the drawing is a standard size of about A4 (21 by 29,7 cm/ 8,3 by 11,7 inch) or A3 (9,7 x 42 cm. 297 x 420 mm. 11,7 x 16,5 inch). Very standard size so it will be very easy to find a frame for it. The drawing will be delivered without frame. This listing is for the portrait of 1 animal or 2 animals.


How does it work?
When you buy this listing, you can add your details in the section of 'personalisation', and you can mail me your photograph of the animal that you want me to draw at the following mailadress: wallartels [!at] outlook.com.
It popular can take a while for me to start your drawing, so you will get a notification from me once i have started. You will also get pictures or video's in between of 'the making of'. When the portrait is finished, I will send it to your home through mail. Off course I will carefully wrap it so it does not get damaged.

What do I need from you?
I need a digital photograph that has a good quality (high resolution, good lighting, sharp), so I can have the perfect represention of the animal. We can discuss through email which photo's are the best ones and we can choose the picture together. The sharper your picture, the better and more detailed i can draw your beautiful pet. Pay attention that important details of your pet get nice displayed on the photo.
Off course, I understand that when a pet is no longer among us, you can only have a certain number of photo's to chose from. But we can discuss the different photo's and chose together the best option.


I draw every portrait with charcoal and pencil on fine art paper. I use brushes, erasors or posca markers to add extra details so can render the best possible lifelike portraits of the highest quality. I fix every drawing with a couple of layers of charcoal fixatif to make sure it's fully protected and will be for the next 10 years.

Please be aware that these portraits are handmade, and are not in any way copied or digital. It also means that they take time to make. I can not rush any drawings, because I always strive to get the best and delicate results. Depending on how many commissions I have at the moment, waiting times can vary a lot. I also work on different commissions at the same time. Please make sure if you have a certain deadline, that you order at least two months beforehand. I live and work in Belgium, and I ship internationally, shipping times/ delivery times can vary a lot too.
