WWII popular U.S. Navy MOP 12kt gold filled on Sterling Silver Locket Pendant Sweetheart Homefront

Here is a unique and lovely reminder of our past, and a wonderful way to honor those who are in the Navy or have been in the Navy. This was from World War 2 and was called sweetheart jewelry. Sailors would give these to their Moms or sweethearts with their pictures inside. This lovely locket is 12kt gold filled on solid Sterling Silver and Navy emblem on top. The locket measures 1 1/4 in top to bottom (not counting bail) 1 3/4in including the bail and 7/8 in wide. It is quite beautiful in a Victorian style and in excellent condition. It is marked on the inside where a picture goes"Sterling + 1/20 12 kt". The locket closes tightly. This locket is in excellent condition, no damage. Inside it has the frames to hold the photos plus it even still has the clear plastic to protect the photos. The pictures don't do this gorgeous locket justice, the floral details and the etchings are so lovely. Simply a lovely locket that would make a great gift for yourself or someone special and what a great way to show support for our great Navy with a little history too! popular
