QA:
- Q If these are genuine vintage items how comes some of the designs are often available? (Question Applicable to Miniatures/Figurines)
- A In Italy from the 1950s till the end of the last century, these types of items were produced in their hundreds for all manner of events such as weddings, christenings etc. They were extremely popular during the 1970s and 1980s, when wealthy families would gift them to each other or use them to make a good impression on their guests due to the figurines being made of silver and generally expensive to produce. Nowadays they are not as popular because the few companies left producing them base the items on old models and often sell them at inflated prices.
- Q If these are genuine vintage items how comes they arrive in a packaging that looks new?
- A Following our experience with our first customers, we thought popular it would be nice to provide each item in a gift bag. This is not only to preserve the silver, but to give the buyer the chance to gift the item without the hassle of looking for more suitable packaging.
- Q I never heard of Continental Silver 800/000, is this genuine silver?
- A Continental Silver is the standard Italian silver, consisting of 800 parts of silver in 1000 parts whereas, for example, Sterling Silver 925 contains 925 parts of silver out of 1000. Continental Silver is also the standard silver type in most of European countries.
- Q Whats the condition of the item(s)?
- A The buyer should look at these items bearing in mind they are vintage and have some decades on their shoulders! The conditions are reflected by the pictures provided and may vary from basically "like-new" to "very damaged". Our suggestions is to look at the pictures carefully and to read the descriptions, if relevant details are not evident on the pictures they will be described.
- Q Whats the difference between "Stamped", "Hallmarked", "Traces of Stamp", and "Traces of Hallmarks"?
- A For your convenience we are distinguishing between items featuring a unique mark (such as 800 or 925), which we refer as "Stamped", and items featuring more than a mark (such as 800 or 925 along with Italian Silversmith Codes, Brand names etc.), for which we refer as "Hallmarked". "Traces" is applicable to both described above and it means that there is/are a stamp/hallmarks but not readable (or partially readable). If you have doubts do not hesitate to contact us.
- Q I am not really sure how "combined postage" works also because wants me to pay more than one postage?
- A If all the items you buy go to the same address you are entitled to get a refund or just pay one postage. If you buy a "free delivery item" along all the other silver pieces then you wont pay any postage no matter how many items you combine with it. Please do not worry to buy and pay the postage more than once, when the parcels are being prepared to dispatch our people will see this and send you a refund straight away on your account along a message to inform you about this. ATTENTION: Combined postage is not applicable on orders to ARGOS because each has a unique code printed on the address, unless you buy all the items in one time. If you still have questions about COMBINED POSTAGE please do not hesitate to contact us.
- Q Why there are no measurements of the items?
- A Because we are a family business with limited working hours processing hundreds of items per week could be tough. We find quicker and exhaustive to provide a picture of the item in an adult hand and/or by a ruler comprising both centimeters and inches measurements.
