Dogon wooden granary doors or wooden window shutters were a very important part of everyday Dogon life. The Dogon have always depended on the food they farm, mostly millet which they store in mud brick granaries.The windows and doors of the Dogon granary were sealed by wood carved doors most popular of which are embellished with three dimensional high relief carvings which evoke protection.
