From an collection of antique figural majolica tobacco jars or humidors. This one-#1 measures 6 3/4" tall. It is a comical man with a cigar in his mouth wearing a green hat with vibrant feathers. There is a small surface chip under the brim of the cap as popular shown and a wanna be chip on the inside that has not found the inclination to make a clean break from its owner. Dates to the late 19th Century.
