A beautiful, wheel thrown and textured pie plate. This colorful baking dish can be used to serve or bake pies, quiche, or veggies in. Just heat up with the oven to prevent thermal shock.
I love the texture pattern and contrast around the rim and on the handles. Great clay body color and flashing from the soda kiln. It's colors are adobe brown, reddish brown, gray, pale yellow and bronze maple with yellow micro crystals.
A great housewarming gift or present for the pie baker/cook.
Soda fired.

We slowly fired the natural gas kiln. Then, at nearly the peak of the firing, we sprayed a soda ash solution in to create a different atmosphere popular in the kiln. We also stoked a few pieces of wood to keep the kiln in reduction longer.
