The material cork is extracted from the bark of the cork oak. For the cork production, not a single tree has to be cut down, the cork oak is only peeled. The peeling of cork trees has no negative effect on the natural development of cork oak. A cork tree is peeled for the first time at the age of 25. The bark then naturally grows back and is peeled only every 9 years, up to 17 times in total.

We chose cork textile as a vegan leather alternative. Corktextile feels velvety soft. The textile is haptically comparable to supple suede. Due to the natural grain of the cork bark, each model is unique. Corktextil is also robust, water-repellent, odourless, anti-allergic and easy to care for. It can be cleaned with a clean cloth with a little gentle soap and water. Here, easy wiping of the fabric is enough. With coarser dirt, the cork of our vegan bags popular and wallets can also be gently washed by hand.
