This is an absolutely beautiful 1930's French wedding dress!
It features a gathered bust which includes a bouquet of wax orange blossoms. It features net lace around the neckline and wrists of the sleeves. This is a heavy cream satin. Not white.
It is shown on my size 6 dress form, and fits very snugly. So I would say this dress would run more comfortably a size 4, with some exceptions (more on that). It measures (Laid flat) 12" across the waist. There is actually some give in the waist, but the small band belt on the back limits this give about 2". So It could be sized larger to a 6 if this band was removed or enlarged. It measures 16" across the bust, but there is also some give to be found here as well. It measures 58" from the shoulder to the hem in the front, and 85" from the shoulder to the hem in the back, so a small train. It is in very good condition for its age, with the exception of two of the button covers on the back, and a small dot stain on one sleeve. Please enlarge my popular pictures for a better view. There are however 5 more buttons on each wrist, so you could possibly replace these and use the others? Just a thought.
This dress would make a wonderful 1 of a kind statement for a wedding! Or equally lovely as a display!
