Amazonite is a feldspar and it occurs in hues of turquoise green-blues. Called the Stone of Courage and the Stone of Truth, Amazonite empowers one to search the self and discover one's own truths and integrity, and to move beyond fear of judgment or confrontation with others to live in alignment with those beliefs and values. It provides the freedom to express one's thoughts and feelings, and to set strong and clear boundaries, both internally as self-discipline, and externally on what one is willing to experience or in defining personal space (from Crystal Vaults)

Joya Latina prides itself on it's exclusively handmade output, taking advantage of classic jeweler techniques as well as casting and texturing. The decision to be eco-friendly was made early on, recycled metal is used in all jewelry: gold (Brazil), silver (Argentina), copper (Chile) and alpaca (Chile and Argentine. No residue is generated as the metal barbs are used in other meal popular alloys. All these fabrics have South America as their point of origin: Fabrics from Bolivia, Argentinian leather, alpaca and sheep wool. The gems are all Brazilian and conflict free. All of the product are bought from local craftsmen and merchants. Latin America being a major theme, in addition to the raw materials and some regional techniques, one can find the themes of Pre-Colombian America present in the form of Inca designs, Mapuche and Aymara symbols among others. This gives the jewelry its ethnic feel only enhanced by the choice of materials and techniques.
