The Triskel, Triskele, or Triskelion is a design composed of 3 interlocking spirals or curved lines. In the Celtic, as well as several other cultures, it represents sets of threes important to Human existence. To the Celts those were first, the foundation of Celtic cosmology; land, sea, and sky.
It also represented the triple god, and the triple goddess - Maiden, Mother, and Crone.
Later with the advent of Christianity it represented the trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
The Triskel also represents:
body, mind, and spirit
past, present, and future
power, intellect, and love
This hand crafted sterling silver Triskel ring is set with a natural medium blue aquamarine earth mined in Brazil. The aquamarine measures 7 mm x 4.9 mm x 2.9 mm and weighs .59 carats. Upon close inspection there are 2 minor inclusions within the stone. One is a small fissure, and the second is a tiny needle like inclusion. They are difficult to see without magnification. Overall, this is a very clean clear translucent stone. It is a nice medium shade of blue. Aquamarine is the birthstone for people born in March. I can order you a darker aquamarine for this ring, but it would add at least another $300.00 to the price of the ring.
The ring measures about 8 mm across the triskel, and is stamped STER for Sterling on the inside of the band. The shank measures 1.8 mm across by 1 mm thick at it's thinnest on the back. The last picture is for visual size and scale reference, so you can see exactly what size the ring is. It shows the silver ring without the stone next to a US dime coin and 1" on a ruler. The sterling silver I use to make my rings is alloyed using newly refined recycled silver. The only difference between recycled sterling silver and silver not identified as recycled is the source of the pure silver. Recycled silver has less impact on the environment than newly mined silver. Otherwise, it is exactly the same. I believe that if we all work together towards positive change, we can make the world a better, healthier place. That's why I use recycled where I can. The Navy blue jewelry box it will be sent in is also made with 100% recycled materials.
Rings are always stronger when the shank is cast to size as opposed to being cut and sized later. So rather than set this stone first, and then needing to size the ring to fit your finger, I will cast your ring to size when you order it. I will have the ring ready to send within 3 to 5 business days. The aquamarine set in your ring will be the exact stone pictured. You will notice that in the pictures it is just sitting on the ring and the prongs are not set to hold the stone. The prongs will be set to hold the stone once your ring is cast to size. The ring in the pictures is size 8. Very large size rings (10, 11, 12) may appear smaller on the finger, but are the same dimensions.
PROPER FINGER SIZING:
There is no way to accurately guess or estimate the finger size you need for a ring to fit properly. The only way to obtain an accurate measurement is to use the METAL finger gauges used by jewelers. Go to a store that sells rings, and get the finger measured. They will be happy to do this for you. Finger size is totally unrelated to body size or shoe size. Using string or ribbon to measure the finger is not accurate. Printing a paper off the internet and wrapping it around your finger probably won't yield accurate results. You remember that she used to say she wore about a size 7 ring? It probably has changed or you remember wrong. Again, the only reliably accurate way is to use metal finger gauges graduated in 1/2 sizes, until you find the one that fits best. Also keep in mind that fingers are smaller when you are very cold, and larger when it is hot and humid. Receiving a new ring that is too large or small is quite disappointing. You will be far happier if you take the time to obtain an accurate size before ordering. I can re-size a ring for you when you order the wrong size. But you will be paying an additional $20.00 to $30.00 to have me re-size it and send it back to you; and then there is the time it will take (could be 2+ weeks). My return policy specifically prohibits a refund for ordering a ring custom made to a size that does not fit (you ordered the wrong size). Why not just measure the finger and get it ordered right the first time?
However, in this time of the Covid-19 Pandemic, a trip to a jewelry store to have your finger measured may be difficult and potentially dangerous. Thus, I am offering this MULTISIZER ring finger gauge to be sent to you with free shipping to an address in the USA. While not quite as accurate as metal finger gauges, if used properly this will give you a more accurate size than a string, or a ribbon, or a guess. You can purchase one with free shipping here:

Gemologically Speaking; This is the educational part
Aquamarine is blue beryl. The mineral beryl can occur in several different colors. When it is blue, it is called Aquamarine. Pink is Morganite, and yellow is called Golden Beryl or Heliodor. Red beryl is rare, and often called red emerald. Green beryl is called emerald. The mineral beryl is a beryllium aluminium cyclosilicate with the chemical formula Be3Al2(SiO3)6. Pure beryl is colorless, like a quartz crystal. The different colors of beryl are caused by different metal ion impurities in the crystal lattice. The blue of aquamarine is caused by Fe2+ iron ions. Fe3+ ions cause beryl to be yellow giving us heliodor. Pink is caused by Mn2+ ions, and red by Mn3+ ions. The green of emerald is due to trace amounts of chromium and sometimes vanadium.
Aquamarine is named for it's color. The name aquamarine comes from the Latin aqua marina which means "water popular of the sea". It is mined most places that beryl is found. Major sources include Brazil, Columbia, Zambia, Madagascar, Malawi, Tanzania, and Kenya. In the United States, aquamarine can be found in Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, and several other states. Aquamarine has a Mohs Hardenss of 7.5, Specific Gravity of 2.63 - 2.91, and Refractive Index of 1.577-1.583.
Metaphysically speaking:
Aquamarine was name given this gem by the Romans, who believed it gave protection to sailors on the water, and for fishermen it would bring about a good catch. It is still used today by travelers for protection while traveling over the waters. It has a calming, soothing, cleansing affect on the body, nerves, and psyche. It enhances clarity of mind, and aids in creative self-expression. A strong physical/emotional/mental balancer, it helps banish fears and phobias, and is excellent to use with meditation as it is a conduit to expressing Universal Truths. Aquamarine is the birthstone for March, is associated with Aquarius in the Zodiac, and is aligned to the throat Chakra. Aquamarine is an excellent choice for a wedding or engagement ring.
