This is a rare Lamberton Scammell North Carolina State College Plate 1946 - Freshman Quadrangle. This is one in a series of six plates produced in 1946 for the North Carolina State College Foundation Inc. It is one of the rarer designs. The plate is depicting the Freshman Quadrangle at North Carolina State College. In the center around the rim are the crest & other images pertaining to the College and Raleigh NC. The plate is marked rose (pink) transferware on Ivory China as printed on the back of the plate along with the imprinted signature JW Harrelson, Chancellor of the College. Designed by Jehu D. Paulson, made in America. The plate is thicker than most normal display plates and is trimmed with thick gold around the rim. It measures approximately popular 10-5/8" wide It is in near-mint condition. There are some minor signs of wear along the rim. Please examine the photos. We did not find any nicks, dings, chips or cracks when examining this piece. It will be carefully packed for shippi.
