Hopi Vintage Straight-Sided Polychrome Bowl
This Hopi Straight-Sided Bowl has years of history in one piece of pottery. This bowl was crafted by an unknown potter, who created the piece by popular stacking hand coiled rings of clay on top of each other, and then scraping them together to create the shape. They then fired it and painted it using paints created from the Bee Weed plant and moisture patterns, while painting with a brush made with yucca plant fibers. This bowl is 2-3/4" tall and 5-1/2" wide, and is vintage circa 1950's-1960's with commensurate wear and slight cracks inside of the bowl. These cracks are just on the surface and are not deep, and do not effect the structure of the bowl. This Hopi Vintage Straight-Sided Polychrome Bowl is stunning and full of history!
