I try to evoke a sense of times past with colorful, fun signs from vintage and retro graphics as well as my own art work and ideas. Each one of my signs is made by hand using wood that's been around a while and has a history. It may be from a wall or floor, dresser or cupboard. You can't duplicate truly old wood so I use the real thing. I clean the wood, remove nails and paint, then I build the signs. I sometimes use the original faded, chipped patina of the wood or I paint and distress it to look as vintage as the wood it is on. I put a protective coating to keep your sign looking great for years to come. Lastly, a wire hanger is added on the back to give it an extra vintage, found in the attic, hand made feel. It's good to breathe new life into something old and worn that will add color, character and some whimsy to your life. If it makes you smile, then I have done what I have set out to do.
~These signs will look beautiful for years and years. They can be hung outdoors if they are protected from the direct weather and sun. I will gladly put an exterior finish on your sign if you would like. Please let me know. It will do better outdoors with an exterior finish although I would still recommend protecting it from the elements if it's possible to make it last for a very long time.
~They're made to order so there may be some variations from the signs shown. The nature of wood is that each piece will be slightly different. The weathering and rustic look makes each sign unique. It may be made of several pieces of wood or one single piece depending on vintage wood available at purchase. If you have a preference, please let me know.
~ since I have to work with the wood available to me at the time the order is placed, the wood could vary slightly and so can the size by a bit. Each one is handmade so there can be variation but I do my best to keep it as close to the sign pictured. If you need a very exact size to fit into a certain space please tell me it when you order with a message.
