Who could resist these three little balls of fur! Their blue eyes match the fluffy blue blanket. The back view of the egg shows the folds of the blanket with the back of a pair of tiny ears peeking up. The "woven" basket with handle has a 3D look and the circular bottom support is painted to look like the base of the basket. The egg is permanently mounted on a black wooden base.

My egg creations make unique gifts for you, or for somand eone who "has everything".

I've painted ostrich eggs for 30+ years. My artwork is original, freehand designs using acrylic paints - no decoupage or stickers. Glazing, blending and a focus on detail adds depth to produce realistic representations. Completed artwork is protected with three coats of polyurethane varnish to give a glass-like shine and durable finish. To clean, use a soft, slightly damp cloth, as needed.

Ostrich eggshells are the largest and thickest shell in the world and average about,
15" in diameter, 6" high and 1/16" thick. One ostrich egg is equal to approximately 24 chicken eggs and can withstand the weight of a 300-pound bird sitting on them. But don't worry.... no baby ostriches are hurt for my eggs. My supplier uses infertile eggs. They are drained through a hole in the bottom, cleaned, sanitized, and ready to paint!
