Product code: Imperious 1961 Impressionist Mountain Landscape Oil popular Painting signed Vladisov
Up for sale is a really dark and brooding mountain landscape oil painting on board. The painting is signed "Vladisov" at lower right. On verso, there is a dedication "To Val, Oct 1961." It is unclear if the 1961 date is the date this was painted or merely the date of the gift. I have not been able to find any information on the artist. In any case, this is a really cool piece, employing popular lots of layered colors, excellent depth to the work and an ominous atmosphere. It has a real presence and boldness that I very much like. The painting shows some instances of staining, particularly in the sky and the mountains. There are also a number of instances of paint loss/flaking, which is mostly confined to the trees in the lower portion of the painting. Please see the photos. The frame is in good condition, showing numerous scratches and scuffs. Painting measures approximately 16 inches high x 12 inches wide. Frame measures approximately 18.5 inches high x 14.5 inches wide.
